Teachers from the National Education Union (NEU) to strike in July

19th June 2023

The National Education Union (NEU) has agreed two further days of strike action this term. The days of action will be on Wednesday 5th July and Friday 7th July

These strike days are covered by an existing ballot of members, which closed in January. Legislation requires that the ballot is renewed after six months. The NEU are currently re-balloting members for strike action in the autumn term.  Three other teaching unions, the NAHT, the NASUWT, and the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL), are also balloting members on strike action for the autumn term.

HR Customers can find detailed guidance both on the legal and practical implications of industrial action here on the website, plus a selection of detailed FAQs and a range of template letters confirming the deduction of pay following the strike action.
