Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSiE) 2023 - Changes in Final Version

7th September 2023

You may remember we summarised the forthcoming changes in Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023 in our news article of 9 June and our Welcome to the Autumn Term notification of 31 August.

The September 2023 version of the keeping children safe in education guidance is now in force, replacing previous versions.  There are a couple of meaningful changes in the final version we would like to alert you to:

  • In the section on Filtering & Monitoring paragraph 142 about the appropriateness of filtering and monitoring systems online contains additional useful information
  • In the section on Inspection paragraph 150 states that in addition to the framework and inspection handbooks, the Ofstednews YouTube channel provides webinars on a range of topics that may help schools and colleges

Annex F has a table of substantive changes from the September 2022 guidance.

Neither of these updates impacts upon the resources we have already updated for HR and DBS Plus Customers which can be found via the links in our Welcome to the Autumn Term newsletter.
